Neighbor moved and left him on the street with a bowl of food, he was homeless for about 5 minutes. Guess he's mine now, this loud mouth does nothing but eat and aggressively demand love.

awesomeone6044 Same here, I can't understand anyone who could have a pet, and then just leave them. I once had to leave my cat at the vet for a few hours for a heart test to check for a murmur and I was beside myself with anxiety and was very upset in the fact she might be thinking she was abandoned.

TechnoVek1ng It's heartbreaking to think about how some people can just toss aside a pet like that. They don't realize the bond we build. Glad he's found a loving home now!

Itsallsomagical I'm not surprised he aggressively demands love- if they were happy to leave without him then he probably wasn't getting the constant snuggles he so rightly deserves. I'm glad you'll be able to remedy that! He's a dreamboat.

OfcWaffle I adopted an orange a few weeks ago. His intake paper work said he was a garage/outdoor cat only. He would sometimes be aggressive and would pee/ the litter box. outside of Tell me why in the last month basically he's gone from that terrible environment, went to the shelter and got a cold, came to stay at my parents house while my gf and I were moving and now is in our apartment.

He's met probably 40+ people (gf had a birthday party). Everyone had to pet him, if they wanted to or not. He follows you around and will just flop over at your feet and show his belly, it's not a trap. He demands belly rubs. Not once has he soiled outside his litter box with all those stressful environment changes. I can be sure his previous owners were a h_les to him. Their loss, we just gained an awesome cat for what I'm hoping is 20 years.

sara_or_stevie I will never understand how some people can treat animals this way. Thank goodness for you. I suppose everyone is better off this way... I still hope your old neighbor steps on lego every day for the rest of their life.

Asparagussie People who abandon their animals belong in prison. I trust he's now your cat.

So this little man was left on the streets in a major city after a neighbor moved, so I took him in. Turns out he's declawed in the front and already showing some battle wounds from other strays. I need advice on few things: 1. He's flea ridden, but we got him a flea bath, the pill that kills them within hours, and the meds. How long until the little guy can leave bathroom quarantine? (We have a dog in the house)

    2. Above referenced dog LOVES cats in a sweet way, but this man is understandably not fond of them given his history. Is there any recommendations for how to introduce the two so as to make things go smoothly? Thanks, was not expecting to get a cat but hey everything happens for a reason

ausername_8 It's alarming to me the amount of people who move and leave their cats behind. You're their home and you're abandoning them. Good on you OP for doing the right thing.

princess_fiona_7437 One of the best things I did when I introduced my cat who is terrified of everything to a new dog is have elevated space for him. I had a cat tree and put up some shelves to make a cat walkway on the wall. It allows them to be in the same room but have space. The second thing I did was make my bedroom my cat's safe space. I put up a baby gate in the doorway to keep the dog out but the cat was able to jump over it to come in and out the bedroom whenever he wanted.

DaWarGod2 Introduce slowly, like have to door opened just a little and feed the dog and cat near each other. Maybe have them sleep on blankets and swap them so they get used to each other's smell? More so for the cat to get used to the dog's smell. You'd also have to watch them when they're together to make sure the dog doesn't make the cat uncomfortable. A treat bribe probably wouldn't hurt as well in supervised together time.
